The next step is to fill out the DS-160 form. Please make sure to read the instructions for filling out the DS-160 form carefully. All information must be true and accurate. Once the form is submitted, you cannot make changes. If you need assistance, please consult with immigration legal counsel or a translator. The help desk cannot help you complete your DS-160. You need your DS-160 number to schedule your interview.

Complete all sections and create a password. Once you are logged into the system, you will see your home page. Click on Schedule an Interview on the left side of the menu.

Visit the American Embassy or Consulate General on the date and time of your visa interview. Be sure to check the Schedule My Interview page for information on the documents required for your interview.
If your visa is approved, the visa will be sent to the location you specified when you scheduled your interview.
