Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot

This is a program designed to help the smaller communities in Canada strengthen their economies and so it allows foreigners to apply for jobs posted by employers in Canada who are part of the participating communities. Through this program, successful applicants can get permanent residence to live and work in Canada.

One interesting thing about this program is that as a foreigner, you become aware of the jobs that are in demand in Canada and also the community where the jobs are available. So through this, you get to know the best jobs in Canada and where to find them.

Working in these communities will help you to save cost as they basically have a low cost of living unlike the urban areas and also since there are no much competition for jobs in the part of Canada, there will be high demand for labour and also the employers will be willing to pay higher salaries or wages.

What makes you eligible for the RNIP?

For you to be eligible for the RNIP you will have to meet the following requirements set out by the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and they are:

  • You must meet or exceed the language requirement
  • You must meet or exceed the educational requirement
  • You must have a qualifying work experience
  • You must meet the community-specific requirements
  • You must show that you will live in the community you are recommended for
  • You must prove that you have enough money to support your movement to the community

How do I apply for the RNIP?

There are four steps to apply for permanent residence in Canada through this program and we will be showing you these steps.

  • Find an eligible job with an employer in one of the participating communities
  • Once you have a job offer, you will have to submit your application for recommendation to the community
  • You must meet the IRCC eligibility requirements and also the community-specific requirements
  • If a community recommends you, you can then apply for permanent residence.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot

This is a pilot program that is designed to allow skilled worker come and work in the Atlantic Provinces in Canada. Through this program, foreign skilled workers who want to become permanent residents in any of the four Atlantic Provinces in Canada can apply. The four Atlantic Provinces in Canada are: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador.

This pilot program has three programs, which include two for skilled workers:

  • Atlantic High-Skilled Program
  • Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program
  • Atlantic International Graduate Program

Let’s look at the requirements for each of these programs…

The requirements for the Atlantic High-Skilled Program are:

  • You must have a foreign degree or diploma that is equal to the Canadian standard and so you will need an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report to certify this.
  • You will need to take an approved language test show that you are fluent in either of the official languages in Canada that is English or French
  • You must have at least one year experience working in professional, management or skilled job
  • You must have a proof of funds that shows that you can support your stay in Canada as well as anyone one that will join you in Canada.

The requirements for the Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program are:

  • You must have a high school diploma that is equal the Canadian standard and so you will need an Educational Credential Assessment report to certify this.
  • You must have at least one year experience working in a job that requires a high school education
  • You will need to take an approved language test show that you are fluent in either of the official languages in Canada that is English or French
  • You must have a proof of funds that shows that you can support your stay in Canada as well as anyone one that will join you in Canada.
